East to West Mission exists to empower Prince William County Treatment Court participants to graduate not just sober, but stable, supported, and equipped for a new future through practical help, meaningful relationships, and the hope of Jesus Christ.
As we came alongside Treatment Court participants, we were deeply impressed by the dedication of the courts and the commitment of the professionals who walk alongside participants throughout their journey.
We also saw that even with strong programs and support systems in place, everyday challenges can sometimes create unexpected obstacles. A participant may be fully committed to changing their life but still struggle with something as simple as obtaining an identification document, getting to work, purchasing appropriate clothing for a new job, or overcoming another practical barrier.
East to West Mission was created to come alongside the Treatment Courts and help address these needs. Our goal is not to replace the services already available, but to provide additional practical support and encouragement that can help participants continue moving forward.
We believe every person deserves hope for the future, and the opportunity to rebuild their life. Our heart is to see Treatment Court participants not just survive, but thrive as they rebuild lives marked by stability, purpose, hope, and opportunity.
Treatment Courts Overview
Treatment courts are a nationwide initiative and represent one of the most effective interventions within the criminal justice system. Rather than focusing solely on punishment, these specialized court programs address the underlying substance use, mental health, and other challenges that may contribute to criminal behavior.
Treatment court participants commit to a rigorous and highly structured program that may include:

East to West Mission proudly serves participants and families connected to two specialized treatment court programs in Prince William County.
Veterans Treatment Docket
The Veterans Treatment Docket serves eligible veterans whose involvement with the criminal justice system may be connected to substance use, mental health challenges, trauma, or difficulties associated with military service and the transition back to civilian life.
The program recognizes the unique experiences and needs of veterans. Participants receive individualized support and are connected with appropriate treatment, benefits, and community resources while participating in a structured program that emphasizes accountability and long-term stability.
A key component of many Veterans Treatment Court programs is peer mentorship, which connects participants with fellow veterans who can offer encouragement, understanding, and support throughout the recovery process.
Adult Recovery Court
The Adult Recovery Court serves individuals whose involvement with the criminal justice system is connected to substance use disorders. Participants engage in a structured, court-supervised program designed to support long-term recovery while holding them accountable for meeting program requirements.
The program brings together judges, attorneys, probation officers, treatment providers, and other professionals who work collaboratively to help participants overcome barriers and build stable, productive lives. Participants may receive treatment and recovery support while working toward important goals such as maintaining sobriety, securing employment, rebuilding relationships, and becoming productive members of the community.
